Earlier this year we were approached by Bike Newport in Rhode Island. They'd seen us in the press and wanted to know how we might collaborate. The town of Newport sees a massive influx of visitors from around the world each summer. And last year there were three pedestrian fatalities. Bari Freeman the ED of Bike Newport wanted to see that number go to zero. We licensed the WAVE brand to them and developed a town specific brand system for their use. The townspeople are waving and it's our shard hope that this will be the safest and friendliest summer Newport has ever seen. Check them out at Newport Waves.
Filmed by Bike is an international film festival of the best bike-themed independent short movies. And we're proud to announce that our Wave launch film is one of the handful of films from around the world to be selected for this year's festival. Check it out on the big screen on May 22 at 7 pm in Portland, OR and learn more about the festival here. OK, who's up for a road trip?
Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo supports the WAVE mission whole handedly. Ride along with him on patrol and give his POV a listen. He says, “Respect is a shared responsibility.” We agree. Thanks to the APD and the Chief Acevedo for taking a small amount of time to help us spread the word.
“WAVE” launches at City Hall on October 22nd, 2:00PM presser with Chief Art Acevedo.
A new project from Austin-based branding firm The Butler Bros offers a simple suggestion for cyclists and motorists trying to traverse the same congested roadways – share a WAVE with each other and “roll nice.”
